Ham Radio: 10 Meters, Ten-Ten International Net with Keith, KR7RK
In Episode 49, Keith Schlottman shares his journey into the Amateur Radio hobby, starting from his interest in Shortwave and CB radios. He later became active on HF and joined the 10-10 International Net, where he has been serving as the treasurer since 1994.
For those who are unfamiliar, Keith explains what the 10-10 International Net is, why it was formed, and how one can participate. He also emphasizes that the 10-meter band is an equal opportunity band, and anyone can work it with almost any equipment, from the newest rigs to older Radio Shack mono-bands and even modified CB antennas. Finally, he encourages Technicians to take advantage of their voice privileges in the 10-meter band, especially with summer coming up, which is a great time for 10-meter fun.
