Families don’t “figure it out” under pressure. They fall back on what they’ve practiced. Simplex — radio-to-radio with no repeaters or internet — is the backbone of any family plan. It’s direct, predictable, and always there when everything else is busy or down.

Pick one FRS, GMRS, or MURS pair and run a 2-minute family check.

“I’m on Channel X. Can you hear me?”
“Loud and clear.”
“Switch to our backup and check in again.”
