Day 14 of the Advent(ure) Calendar: Antennas 101.

Most people judge a radio by its buttons or screen, but performance almost always comes down to one thing: the antenna. A good antenna can make an inexpensive radio sound strong. A bad one can make a great radio sound weak.

I’ve watched range double or triple just by changing the antenna or raising it a few feet. Same radio. Same power. Different results.

Height helps.
Outside beats inside.
And a solid antenna is the smartest upgrade a family can make.

Today’s action:
Take your main radio outside and test it from a few different spots. Notice how height and location change your signal.
